Blackstone came in and suddenly we are counting how long it takes to type a letter, dictating how long you should be on a phone call, putting quotas for production in place. the focus went from quality and accuracy to quantity without regard for error. Many long term employees who worked hard, cared about their work were terminated due to not meeting quotas,while those that made the numbers were rewarded with bonuses. I quit after 2 years of that crap. I could not take it any more, what Blackstone had done to our company. It made me sick and sad. I quit in July 2007 and managed to escape with all of my 401k. The company is extremely wasteful when it comes to spending money on computer hardware. They don't track inventory well at all and I witnessed hardware disappearance regularly. Instead of better tracking, the company would just keep writing checks to buy more new hardware. It made me sick. They also overpay the remaining IT staff at the levels you would expect for senior positions even when those workers are junior level experienced at best. It was insulting to experienced veterans like myself and I just couldn't keep hanging around as if it was okay. It can be the next day, two weeks from now, we just need to know when and why. If I need to look for another Job please tell me, I have 2 children and one of those kids is considered a special needs kid, and I have to find other ways to take care of bills that are incurred during doctor visits, meds, and therapies. I am a single mom and I am freaking out. Please Sallie mae tell us when and what is going on. And to you other people that are glad that sallie mae is being forced out of loaning out federally backed loans. They do so much more then that. They do collections and they offer several other ways to help a student and families afford college. And to everybody that is upset about Sallie Mae loans, you didn't have to sign on the dotted line to attend school. You chose the school and the degree, now sit down figure out what you can and can not afford, and call your lender and set a payment plan, it may be tough but it will make a big difference in your life and help you move on and not have to end up more then needed on your payments.
